Lola, I'm An Apeman

Oh, this rules on so many levels.

It's got the elements I mentioned in the last post (Butlin's British Breed), awesome 1970 groove, it's got fucking everything. The bass player? Slaptastic. Not exactly sure what the hell he's doing.

And in this rarity, they actually play Lola at original tempo, which I think never happened again... they always played it at the speed of light, I think because they wanted to finish with it as soon possible... it's like Van Morrison being stuck with Brown Eyed Girl... Tom Petty with Breakdown... Spacehog with In the Meantime... Paul Simon with Sound of Silence... Lou Reed with Walk On the Wild Side... Don McLean with American fuckin Pie... etc.
