Okay... Okay.....
I'm gonna have to agree with you on this one. "People's #$%^ing taste," should not really be that much of a shock to you if you stop and consider who we're talking about. The "people" in this instance, the ones driving the sales of single downloads, ringtones (finally a dead market) and the like, are the same ones who are soon to be living in my home.
They are 10 to 18 years old, but 13 is the average, with their parents allowance money. They are bored and highly influenced by what their friends tell them. They would rather watch the Disney XD and Teen Nick than CNN or the History Channel. They don't read many books- not even magazines or comics anymore. They speak in coded English that they can type on their phone keyboards faster than Samuel Morse on methanphetamine. They don't even watch MTV to wait and see if their favorite 'artists' make it to the playlist. They just go straight to YouTube or the web to get instant gratification.
They are mostly female, because after all- women rule the world. But the boys who are able to admit they like more than gangster rap are also buying Britney.

Sigh... The ones with money to spend on music are kids. Just kids. Kids who have seemingly been abandoned by real parents with any kind of a music library or who aren't too busy earning money to pay for their kid's music downloads or gas for the car.

God bless America, but God save us all.
